About Steve Johnson

Candidate for Ohio House of Representative - District 70

With a degree from Ohio State and over 30 years management in manufacturing companies, Steve Johnson is experienced with insurance, pensions, banking, health insurance, budgets, and business growth.

He knows how important it is for company personnel to work smart, work hard, and work together to be successful. He will leverage that experience to help Ohio do the same.

Steve appreciates that education was the key to his success and wants all of Ohio’s children to have the same opportunities. And he realizes that their success will be the primary driver of Ohio’s economic development. Steve supports testing reform, increased school funding, and policy developed by educators rather than legislators.

Steve fought to repeal Senate Bill 5, the bill that would have stripped collective bargaining rights from teachers, firefighters and police officers.

Steve and his wife Shannon, a director of the Ashland County Board of Elections, reside just outside the city of Ashland. They are committed to making Ohio the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
